I have the following sound card:
Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03)

I have no sound when booting the computer. Each time I use the computer I activate the sound card with the following command: " /etc/rc.d/init.d/alsasound restart"

Despite getting the following error message "Starting sound driver: snd-intel8x0 done
/usr/sbin/alsactl: load_state:1327: No soundcards found...", I got sound. I have now 2 questions:

1.) Why does FC6 does not recognize the sound card at boot?
2.) Why do I get he message of not finding the soundcard if it exist and I have sound?

THanks for your help

Well I do not have a permanent solution to your problem ... but adding the the line "/etc/rc.d/init.d/alsasound restart" in your "/etc/rc.local" should free you from running it manually every time you restart i.e. . . . . . untill some one comes up with a permanent solution
