MadWifi iwconfig ath0 not working

I have installed MadWifi using atrpm. And have a Netgear WG511T installed in PCMCIA slot.

And have done the following comand to create ath0 :-

wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode sta

But I just get :-

wlanconfig: ioctl: No such device

I have tried a reboot but that did not help.
