I have linux installer wolf-linux-1.41-3.x86.run and all needed pk3 files, but it looks to me that installer stops indefinitly in this state:
./wolf*
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Return To Castle Wolfenstein 1.41.............................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...................
[1]+ Stopped ./wolf*

Before I stopped it I was asked for root password, and after that it just stays without any activity.

So I'm interested does anybody installed that game and how?

I was playing it without problem on RedHat 9 on an very old pc with reasonable good performance considering pc configuration (P2@300, Matrox G200 accelerated, 256MB RAM).

RedHad 9 is very old, id hasn't kept their installers up to date with the newer releases of the linux distros. You'll probably have a difficult time installing it. If you could copy the files over from your old box, you may have better luck, but I wouldn't count on it.

Hard drive in that pc is "dead".

But I was not having trouble with Heretic 2, which is for sure older.

However, it is not big deal. Thanks anyway.
