Grub is a boot loader, not an installer.

You say you put in the CD, and it loads grub. Are you using the standard FC6 CD, or the LiveCD?

It load's grub?? It has to be the LiveCD. What happens when you just let it boot up and continue with its operation? Does it bring you to a desktop?

Go here

To see what the installation procedure should look like then try to get your money back. Sorry bud, sounds like you've got a duff disk.
