For the most part I have a fresh FC6 install, and I'm running an X1300 and 22" LCD. At first I go no signal on the LCD, then I installed fglrx and I'm getting a picture on the LCD via DVI (had to use VGA and a CRT to get a picture before that).

What do I need to do to get any sort of eyecandy going with FC6 and an X1300? I'm stumped.

Once you've got fglrx installed, you'll need to install XGL if you want Compiz (desktop effects) - the fgrlx driver doesn't work with AIGLX, which is what Fedora 6 installs by default (unless there's been a change in the situation very recently, which I doubt.).

I'm looking around but can't find out how to install XGL.

Additionally, will Beryl work with this? I try to start Beryl and the window manager crashes

Ok, I got Compiz working using this link: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=121119

BUT, the graphics are SLOOWWWWWWW, so much so that I pretty much can't do anything.

How do work with this?
