I don't have much experience with Linux, so if you can help please be as specific as possible in your reply. I have a Hauppauge WinTv-PVR-150 and need help setting it up. I found some instructions that I followed using yum and met with lots of frustration. I can't begin to tell you what problems I had and I don't remember any of the countless sites I went to for advice. I know I'm probably making this harder than it should be, so if someone could give me some instructions that start right after physically installing the card and end with me watching tv I would greatly appreciate it. This is the final hurdle for me (after spending most of the day getting to where I can use my 8800 with dual monitors and not have X crash). Once I get to where I can watch tv then I will probably use Linux more than Microsoft. Thanks in advance.

The ivtv-driver.org (http://ivtvdriver.org) website is the best place to start.

ATrpms (http://www.atrpms.net) provides RPMs for ivtv (http://www.atrpms.net/name/ivtv/). It looks like ATrpms packages will also add the necessary lines to /etc/modprobe.conf. Also, you are going to need the ivtv firmware (http://www.atrpms.net/dist/common/ivtv-firmware/). Once you have these two RPMs installed, reboot and then you should be able to use your PVR-150. If you don't want to use ATrpms, then you can get the latest driver here (http://dl.ivtvdriver.org/ivtv/archive/0.10.x/ivtv-0.10.0.tar.gz) (0.10.0 at the time of writing) and the latest firmware tarball here (http://dl.ivtvdriver.org/ivtv/firmware/firmware.tar.gz).

Also, be sure to read Jarod Wilson's MythTV guide (http://www.wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php). It has a section about setting up capture cards (http://www.wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php#capture). This should help you to configure your PVR-150. If you need more help, PM me and I can help a little bit.
