The documentaiton for mpgtx is a bit cryptic, but the program itself is incredible. I needed to split some large mpg files to fit them onto DVD's and it was incredibly fast (about 30 seconds to split a two hour video on my machine.
mpgtx -s Luke1.mpg [-01:30:00.00] [01:50:00.00-]
Using a range of [00:00:00.00-01:30:00.00] caused an error for some reason, but my solution above solved the problem. If you need to use some of the other formats for this utility and can get something to work please post what you did here. The documentation syntax doesn't seem to agree with how the program actually works and there are no examples on the man page.
