Has anyone had fedora core 1 fail during installation?
Mine is freezing just as the blue screen to install comes up.
You see the check media boxes and then it freezes.
No caps lock, have to power down and back up.
I had the same problem with RH 9.0.
Debian 3.0 r2 installs just fine, also FreeBSD 4.6 has no problems ether.
(I've used a boot.iso and the disrto .iso's with the same problem)
It’s a Compaq Presario 2100 Notebook.
The CDs install on other pc’s fine, and I’ve done HD and Memory tests without problems.
Does anyone have a clue of what could be happening?

At the very begining of installation it will ask you if you want to test media do you say: yes or skip ???

in case you've had skipped it try testing you media with a boot cd or something....but my distros never had given me a frozen screen except on one ocassion mandrake was not detecting my keyboard and it froze completely!

yea...I found another thread on another site. It's has something to do with legacy usb for some reason. If I disabled it in the bios, no freezing. The other work around they had was to hit the caps lock on and off a million times while it was loading everything for anaconda....and then it magicly worked.

Certain hardware configurations (particularly those with LCD displays) may experience problems while starting the Fedora Core installation program. In these instances, restart the installation, and add the "nofb" option to the boot command line.

NOTE: Chinese, Japanese, and Korean graphical installations started using the "nofb" option will start in English, and then switch to the appropriate language once the graphical phase of the installation process begins.
