Hi,

I'm trying to install FC6 64bit from the DVD. I downloaded the iso and burnt the disk with Nero. All looks okay so far.

My PC is as follows:

Dell Dimension 9200
Intel Core 2 Duo 6700
4Gb RAM
SATA drive (has RAID controller? but not active as only one physical drive)
DVD RW
DVD ROM
Twin head monitors through nVidia GeForce 7900 GS

When I boot from the DVD I get a borked splash screen (twisted around) and then the prompts. None of the F keys work.

When I press enter to install I get the following error:

"could not find kernel image: vmlinuz"

I have tried typing in:

"vmlinuz initrd=initrd.img" as suggested on another blog, but that gave the same error message.

Any ideas?

Cheers

D.

Did you do a media check on the DVD? Maybe bad disk.

Hi,

I tried this at the "linux:" prompt

linux mediacheck

- but it didn't do anything; the cursor just moved down to the next line

Any ideas?

Cheers

sounds like you downloaded a corrupt dvd.iso , you will need to download it again.
You can do a install with just the first two cd.iso's if you do a default install
