Purpose:
To make setting up the Dries, Fresh RPMS, Macromedia and Livna (disabled) repos a three second event
Tested Version:
Fedora Core 6
User Level:
Run as root
Prerequisite
Runs best on a clean system
Download:
makeRepos (http://shawndisk.com/assets/files/makeRepos6.sh)
Description:
This simple script needs to be ran as root. During its execution it will download the GPG keys and create the repo data files for inclusion in the default run of yum, yum update, etc. User must be connected to the internet to access the setup files.
Directions:
Open a terminal su - to root chmod 700 the script execute the script by typing ./makeRepos6 Delete or store the script as it is finsihed.
Livna:
The livna repo GPG key and repo is also installed, but disabled. To utilize his repo you will need to enable it for that session. Do not set enables=1 in the livna.repo file as it can mess up the RPMForge default packages and cause your system to freak out or worse. Try to use this repo sparingly and other non RPM Forge repos sparingly and not for automatic updates.

Dries, Fresh RPMS suck for video drivers, it is easier to stick with livna then theres no chance of package conflict.
Why have three repos when one will do it ( Livna )

I don't know
But hey whatever works.

The thing I will never understand is installing flash through a repo ?!?
I mean doesn't it offer to install itself the first time you need it ?
If not, it really doesn't get any easier to manually install something anyways, lol.

Personally, I would like to see all these repos put in a single list, so doing simple things like ripping DVDs and playing video on the desktop would not be such a pain in the butt to get working.

Because of Fedora's policy on FOSS non-free will never be integrated into the fedora repos.

That I know (excluding the changes in FC7) where access begins to be provided while alternatives are offered

I understand the point, but it dawned on me the other day that a bunch of us are taking turns writting HowTos on the same topics... Seemed to be kind of a waste...
