Solution for error message "Disabling IRQ #xx"

I was getting the error message Disabling IRQ #10 under Linux 2.6.18 when the kernel was bringing up an ethernet adapter.

Adding "acpi=off" to the kernel command line made the problem go away.

Other things one can try.
If it is a pci card then move it to a different pci slot.
Or rearrange the order of pci cards.
Make a note of current card and slot location before changing.
Also changes in the kernel can cause or relive the issue as well.
