Does anyone else have this issue? After opening FC6, the mouse pointer will slowly creep up and/or down. Its no big issue, but it is annoying to have the pointer moving about with not intface with it.

My usb optical mouse sometimes moves on it's own....not sure what is causing it...

Do you use a mouse pad? I at times had the same problem with an optical mouse and i got a simple single color mouse pad and I havent seen the problem since.

Have you tried another mouse to see if it has the same problem?

I just threw out all old mouse pads last month - will get another today.

In the interim, I did switch back to an older PS2 ball mouse and the wandering pointer seems to have quit - at least for the time I've been watching it. Maybe I just need a new optical mouse. Thanks for the suggestions. Sometimes the simplest of solutions escapes us when we expect hi-tech to always be the culprit

That is a good point...I bet the reflectivity of the surface alters the performance.
I use it on all kinds of surfaces...leg, chair arm, tabletop, mousepad.

Is it by any chance a wireless mouse? I've had a possessed pointer with the cheaper RF mice before. Don't know if optical corded ones do anything strange, as all my optical mice have been the more up market Logitech ones and never suffered from any interference. My current one is being used with a patterned smooth plastic covered pad.
