Does FC6 have support for FireWire 2.4.12 kernels?

I'm preparing to load it onto my system as the primary OS, and I have an iPod that I'm constantly finding new music for. Reading a tutorial, I'm informed that the distribution I plan to use needs to have support for Firewire 2.4.12

Thanks in advance.

WTF ? 2.4.12 is an old old old Linux kernel that supported firewire. As a general rule, more recent kernels have much better for 'current' hardware like firewire. The FC6 distro uses a 2.6.18 kernel currently. Firewire support is built in. You may need to install "libfreebob" (yum libfreebob) for audio support or "dvdgrab" for video capture.
