Can I play Quake 1 on my FC6?

I suppose this question has been asked a lot, but I just can't find the right search terms.

Can I play Quake 1 on my Fedora Core 6 computer?

I have the Quake 1 original CD made for Windows/DOS from back 1995 (sometimes I miss those days). And I can extract the WAD (data) files from the CD. Is it just a simple matter of getting the Quake 1 program for Linux (shareware licensed, or otherwise), then placing my wad files in the right spot?

Quake 1, Quake 2, Quake 3 Arena, Quake IV... Doom 1, Doom 2, Doom 3... America's Army...

Do I need a 3D graphics accelerator?

If you want to play Quake 1,2, Doom 1 or 2 you don't need graphical acceleration. Quake 3 needs 3D accelerated graphics, but with a simple card like ATI Rage Pro (the one I have in my laptop) you will be able to play. By other hand, Doom 3 and Quake 4, Enemy Territory, Quake Wars... they have very high-tech requirements and graphical needs, in order to play those games you require powerfull devices (I have a ATIX1300/PentiumIV 3.400 Dual CPU and I'm not able to start Doom3 and Quake IV, I'm trying different patches to try too fix it). America's Army runs a bit jerky.
