I got UT2004 demo.......in the format .run.gz How to install it???

You should be able to right click on the file and select extract here.
Then have a look for the ut2004 file and double click on it.

GUI way: Just do as Seve says.
chmod +x <blah_blah>.run

Tried it ....... but it says 'unexpected end of file' & no .run file is created!!
Thnx for the help...... maybe the file is corrupt........it is the Ut 2004 demo version i downloaded from the net!!

Sorry, I don't have the demo
Are you running FC64 or 32 bit ?
You may have to have a look for the install.sh or sh.install file
and from a terminal run
./install.sh or whatever it is called

From the looks of it, Seve, he has a corrupt download.
Try getting the file again, and if possible from a site where you can contrast the MD5 or SHA1 sums. These are the digital signatures of the files, which are used for binary consistency. To determine these, just run the command md5sum <file_name> or sha1sum <file_name>, then a list of numbers and letters will be printed. If this matches that of the site you're getting the file from, then your file is binary identical to that on the site.

Ewww... I just deleted the demo installer from my hd last night, otherwise I'd post it somewhere for you, AnandK. I got the full version off Ebay the day before yesterday.

UT2004 is simply one of my favourite games... I love it. Don't play it on-line much, though.

I have the same problem kinda. I can get it installed, but when i try to run it, nothing happens at all. Like the window looks like its maximising, but nothign ever happens... Kinda depressing, i want it to work so i can get sumthing done in study hall! Ive tired with 3 different downloads of it

the file on the official site is corrupt, I download form a mirror.
