Hello,
I am trying to compile kernel 2.6.19 to be able to use Realtek MCP61 ALC888 HD soundcard.
(I saw a post saying it works with kernel 2.6.19)
I followed the HOWTO on http://fedoranews.org/cms/node/2193, except I skipped a part in section 3, where it says to comment a line in /etc/modprobe.conf, because I don't have such line, and in step 7, I did mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.19-FC6.img 2.6.19 instead of mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.19-FC6.img 2.6.19-FC6 for it couldn't find the module. Then I wrote a few new lines in grub.conf for 2.6.19 but when I boot with this new kernel, I get kernel panic with Caps Lock and Scroll Lock leds blinking and "Can not find filesystem /dev/root" and more messages.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you.
