cannot connect to CUPS server in FC6

Hello-

I'm unable to get any of the utilities to connect to the CUPS server. A "service cups start" doesn't show any error messages. The service-config-printer, KDE Printer module all say that they're unable to connect to the CUPS server process. I've not used CUPS before (I upgraded from FC4.) Does anyone know what the problem might be or what to look for?

I uninstalled the CUPS rpm, removed all files in /etc/cups , reinstalled the CUPS RPM and now everything is working.
