The fan rotating killed my ears, it's so damn loud when I use Fedora...
Any advice? Thanks! ;)
(PS: I just installed it...)

You probably should mention if you're using a laptop or desktop and perhaps the make, model, etc. Of course, you may be able to use the Search feature with 'fan' or that model info and find a solution. There have been some threads about fans which were regulated by Windows programs and which could not be controlled in the same way in FC or other linux distributions.
If you've got a tower with plenty of space, a nice solution would be to upgrade the fans to ball bearing models or perhaps larger, slower moving ones that keep the same volume with lower rpms. Might cost a few bucks but probably better for the life of your machine overall.

Here's an option I grabbed from an earlier thread: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=42737 Maybe it's a solution?

Disclaimer: this can ruin your hardware. A CPU fan is needed to cool your CPU and in this howto it will be turned off for a couple of seconds. If you are not comfortable with doing this, don't!
Hmm... I can't do this to Vice President Presser... :(
I guess I'll just buy a new fan... :P
Can you tell me the fan specs for a Compaq Presario 6010US? Thanks! ;)

No idea of the fan specs for your machine - perhaps google can give you some info? Which fan is making the noise, the CPU fan or the case fan? (suggestion, open the case and put your ear down to it to find out). If it's the CPU fan, you can look up your processor and then find out fans that might work for it from pricewatch.com or similar sites. If it's a case fan, that's much easier - just look up case fans and select ones with lower rpms, higher volume and good quality. However, if it's the power supply fan, don't mess with it - you'd have to replace the power supply instead.
