Hi All,
I've been trying to compile kernel-2.6.19.1 and 2.6.18.1 on a G4 PowerPC for last 2 days using rpmbuild but the process errors out at the very end stating that it "cannot stat zImage - file or directory not found..."

The only way to produce zImage - is to compile the kernel manually: make zImage; make modules; make modules_install, but this does not allow for a RPM installation.

Has anyone else run into this problem? What is the recommended work-around?

You may get a clue by going to kernel.org and seaching the change log for 2.6.20.rc2.
Seach for compile(r).

FC7 rawhide is on 2.6.20-rc2 so why not use it?

Getting an rpm to install requires a few extra steps.
