Hello All,
Ive tried doing two installs ( on two different EMAC's) of fc5 ppc and they both end up with the dsplay off center to the left about 2 inches too far. Ive done a yum update and all the updates installed correctly ,,but after rebooting the display is still the same position. These have the ATI Radeon 7500 display cards in them. After many hours ,off and on,,of trying to reslove this Ive come to the conclusion it may well be in the actual rhgb thing during FC5 bootup. The reason Im thinking this is,,that as soon as FC5 starts to boot the columns of text are way off to the left already,at this point.
I've tried using the old xvidtune utility and i can get the display close( about one inch black,,showing on the right side),,,of the dislpay. Ive messed with the xorg.conf and this seems to make no diff. Ive tried copying the Hsync values from xvidtune to the xorg.conf but didnt do thing? I m not sure that these are the well documented "Raster shift" problem model EMac's? I dont think the are. These are the 1.4 ghz 256mb ram, 40 gig hd,models.
Ive googled all over but have only found two posts of people with this problem, but with no fix? I have 25 of these that Id like to make useable,in a school envirnment, Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Barry
