Sound randomly stopped working

Hey, I'm new to Linux and am using FC5 with a Creative SB Audigy2 ZS. After a minor hardware change (replace cd drive with dvd), the sound stopped working. I'm not actually sure that the drive change was the cause, and I'm certain that the hardware aspect of everything is correct. Anyway, what utilites and such are there that would be useful for me to find and fix the problem? Thanks.

what happens when you type alsamixer at the command line
what does lsmod say
and
have you tried
system-config-soundcard

Ahh!!! I fixed it. Nevermind. When I typed alsamixer at the command line, I got reminded that my card has both an analog and digital output, but only one is hooked up. For some reason the switch got switched to the other one. Not sure how that happened, but it's fixed now. Thanks.
