iMac G4 and function keys

I've been running FC on my laptop for about a year and a half, and I want to put it back on my iMac, but last time I tried, the keys for CD-ROM ejection and sound volume didn't work. Are they supported in FC5, or will I still have to type "eject" into a terminal window?

they are supported, but you have to enable them
click Desktop> Preferences> Keyboard Shortcuts
select the operation (ie.. eject) and press the key you would like to activate the operation (F11)
