I upload photos from my digital camera to my computer by removing the compact flash card and placing it into a CF reader that connects to my computer by USB. The arrangement worked fine under FC 5. The card was immediately recognized, a folder window appeared for it in Gnome, and I could use any command-line or Gnome tools to transfer files to the hard drive.

Since I upgraded to FC 6, the system does not recognize the card reader. Absolutely nothing happens when I put a card into the reader. The system recognizes the other USB devices I use (printer, memory stick, USB hard drive), but not the compact flash card. It is not a hardware problem; the card reader works fine on my Macintosh computer.

Are there any ideas on how to fix this?

I used to do the same with FC5. Now I just plug in my camera in it is recognized, give that a shot.

fdisk shows nothing. lsusb gets the following response:

Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 059f:0651 LaCie, Ltd
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 003: ID 04b8:0005 Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus Printer
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

The two devices shown are an external hard drive and my printer. The card is mounted but does not show.
