I just installed Fedora Core 6. Using Firefox, under
Edit>Preferences>Downloads>Veiw & Edit Actions
the "Download Actions" dialog window that comes up doesn't respond. There is no file information listed, and seaching doesn't do anything.

Originally, there was an entry for mp3 with totem being the action. But totem didn't work, so I downloaded Real Player and made that the action. that does work, and when I download an mp3 file, I get a little window offering to open it with realplay. I could if I wanted change that to something else.

But now, as indicated above, I can't do anything through Edit>Preferences>...

I don't know if this is a problem with Firefox or with some configuration outside Firefox whcih changed.

Thanks for the help. Perhaps I'm missing something, but your guide seems to refer to samba. My problem is purely with Firefox under Fedora Core 6.

er, there was an old trick that works on specific default config applications which always works out for me. dont know if this would work for you.

if you are using root while using firefox try moving

/root/.mozilla to /root/.mozilla2 and relaunch firefox

and see how it goes, goodluck!
