Hello all... I am fairly new to linux and have just installed Fedora Core 6 on my HP DV1130US laptop and having trouble with resolutions. The LCD panel is native to 1280 x 768 resolution and i can not select that in the display settings. I have tried manuly adding it to the xorg.conf file but didnt do any good and it just goes back to 1024 x 768... i am using the i810 drivers though.. here is a link to the default specs of the laptop if they are any help at all.. : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00285312&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=444747&dlc=en

What is the display set to in:
System > Administration > Display
Is it set to 'Auto-configured' If so try setting it to 'Generic LCD 1280x768'
If that doesn't work you can drop to a Terminal:
CRTL ALT F1
Then press F8 to kill X, then type:
system-config-display --reconfig
Edit: That's as root, of course! &%%^%! I'm not multitasking well today and
trying to do 3 things at once!

I got a compaq, and don't know its monitor type, so I just choose "compaq 1024", and it get right, I can choose from lots of resolution. may be resolution is not so fatal, you can choose any type for a try.
