Hate to tell you this, amigo - but that's old news. In fact, there was a lot of speculation that SCO (insert appropriate expletives here) was going to be after them, but they surprised just about everyone and took on Daimler/Chrysler and AutoZone instead.

I've known that for years.

Oh yeah, Google runs a cluster of thousands of standard PCs running a custom filesystem and serving tens of millions of seaches daily on Linux. It's a lot cheaper than Windows!
And they have spiffy Linux search (http://www.google.com/linux).
Yay for Google! :)

Now we just have to get those Google stats up :) - suprised we're haven't taken or got near Mac yet  - blame those pesky Win-modems - 100'000's possibly millions worldwide playing in dual-boots etc etc but having trouble getting online re the Win-modems.

People should now that winmodems are not modems. They are tools of evil and nothing more.

That was the only thing which prevented me from corssing over earlier. I got fed up and went out and brought a proper serial modem. :D
I'm amazed it still works though, considering i've nearly severed the cable to the serial port by accident...

Heh, curiously enough that's what made me try fedora. I found rpms and a user friendly howto for fc1 on how to install the driver for my speedtch modem. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have bothered with redhat at all.
Unfortunately most broadband companies ship usb modems only supported under windows and mac. Hopefully, the likes of lindows will encourage the development of 3rd party drivers for common win modems like mine. Maybe oneday the manufactures themselves will start to support linux.

Thats's exactly what I found aswell - I'd be multibooting happily except for the soft-modem issue with my distros - I'd often get the drivers, load the modules connect up with kppp (for example) and then find that the pppd daemon would mysteriously keep on dying or alternately have very little data throughput - all solved by paying 30 quid for an external serial modem from Ebuyer :)

I've always insisted on a proper RJ-45 connection, myself. But I always do get a kick out of the installer when he tries to install the freakin' Windows CD: I have a special user set up with XPde (http://www.xpde.com/) running just for them...
(Yes, I am an evil bastard? Why do you ask?)
