I guess as soon as the hype for the new FC6 burns out and the user load gets back to normal...

In the meantime, enjoy the large white area, suitable for doodling...

Ewdi's in charge of the site and has to make those decisions himself. Here's the thing though. With the increased popularity of FC (1 million downloads+), we've experienced a high volume of traffic and bandwidth costs. You may have noticed that the Forum lags at times, especially with peak traffic, so if there's something that's going to make it slower, it may not be the best idea to bring it back.

Just to clarify a misconception I see way too often, We are not talking about downloads when we mention one million Fedora Core 6 users. The number of downloads is much higher than that and we dont really have a way to keep track of them in a central place since the mirrors are distributed. What we track is unique IP's to the central updates list. See http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Statistics for more details. As of now, these stats only track FC6. So we got more than a million Fedora Core 6 users. Not a million Fedora downloads.

Boy howdy!!! Now THAT is impressive as hell! I thought it was downloads and that maybe a good 25% or more would try FC and drop it. But this is over 1 MILLION running installs!!! Totally crazy man!

Rahul ... please consider this post a knuckle-bump and a stout shake of the hand to the entire Fedora team.

Them's some serious numbers!

A "Very Well Done," to all!
