The problem is the following, I have no DVD in this machine and I have downloaded the DVD image to install in my laptop computer. I have managed to copy the contents of the DVD into the machine, but I have no way to put the data into a local FTP or http server.

The installation from hardisk insists on looking for cds images. At this point I am not even sure if I could manage to install using the DVD image. I already tryed to create a DVD image with the contents and put it into HD, but this shown no success because anaconda did not recognized this iso correctly.

I don't know what else to do. Thanks in advance.

See if this link helps you any.

I did my time in installing red hat and fedora. I used to install for an entire lab using a http server, but in this case I cannot use another machine to setup this http server and all I have is the content of the DVD and not the iso images that the installation insists in using. I could not find anyway to do the upgrade using that.

Why not use one of the Fedora mirrors as the http or ftp?

You should be able to install using just the DVD .iso image. I did it for previous FC releases and intend to do it for FC6 as well.
