Hi. I´ve to do a large network backup on some dvd-rw.
Some debian-friends suggest me amanda + cdrw-taper, a program for use a cd/dvd like a tape.
I've search with google a precompiled fedora package (or a yum/apt repository) for an easy use but without result, I´ve found only debian packages.
Some one know a site/repository where I can find this package or I´ve to compile the software myself? Thankyou :D

amanda is available with the base Feodra. You should be able to install it from the CD or yum install amanda

The best I can do for taper is a Red Hat 7.3 rpm (ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/7.3/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/taper-6.9b-4.i386.rpm). It might work.

The taper homepage is at http://taper.sourceforge.net/.

The last stable version is dated 2 mar 2000. I think that software has long develop time :)
I´ll try to compile cdrw-taper myself or try to resolve problem in another way.

Thankyou for all anyway :)
