View Full Version : Can update from RH9.0 possible?

i tried but failed to boot from CD and harddisk to install FC2T2.
so i installed RH9.0 instead.
now i wondering if update from RH9.0 possible?I have the 4 .iso files needed!

I'm sure it would be possible, if you just put your FC2 T1 first disk in, and then select update through Anaconda.

How did you boot the Red Hat 9.0 installer? If your computer doesn't boot from CD, like some older ones do, you probably used a boot floppy. (I'm assuming you have a floppy drive.)

I think you can use a boot image from Fedora Core 1. The floppy image is available at http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/1/i386/os/images/bootdisk.img . Just put a blank floppy in the drive and run dd if=bootdisk.img of=/dev/fd0 bs=1440k (The boot disk instructions (https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/install-guide/s1-steps-install-cdrom.html#S2-STEPS-MAKE-DISKS) for 9.0 are still relevant.)
