How can I get yum or the software updater gui to install software from the DVD. I installed FC5 from the DVD and would like to go back and get some more of the things I did not originally install. Shall I just boot from the dvd again? I would do the rpm's myself, but I would like yum to solve the dependencies. Can I make yum look at the DVD for repositories? It would be nice if I only had to use my limited bandwidth for the files I really need to download.

Thank's Seve, It looks pretty straight-forward. I'll try it when I get home from work...

Reading these instructions has led me to another question. Will I need to have the dvdin the drive and mounted with every reboot, or only when I run the yum install or list? I am not very experienced so please be patient. I think I would prefer copying the RPM's to a storage area on a second hard drive, to always having to drop the DVD in the slot. Perhaps I can do it similarly to the CD instructions...
