I have been successfully dual Booting with Ubuntu and Windows (can't seem to drop that partition yet) for a while now.

I want to get back to my roots (if one can call going back to the distro they first successfully installed as "roots") and try out the new Fedora Core 6.

My question is, if I install this to the free space I just created, will FC install a new instance of GRUB that recognizes all 3 OS's? I seem to remember GRUB in Fedora being excellent, btu want to be sure before I accidentally create a weekend of work for myself...

I think FC6 GRUB will indeed find both pre-existing OS partitions just fine. I did the same with Win2K, RH9, and FC5 with no problems.

However, you may need to edit grub.conf for delay times, OS proper names and boot order.

EDIT: BTW, it wasn't too long after I loaded FC5 that I went back and shot win2k in the head! :p

I used to dual-boot etc with Windows XP until I decided I really don't need windows anymore, so I repartitioned and did a full install of Fedora. However I needed to use a windows-only program that wasn't wine-compatible the other day so I installed VMWare Server and WinXP within it. VMWare is now free (which is a recent change, I believe) and works really well and eliminates the annoyances of dual boot whilst still giving the 100% stability of linux!
