Could you be more detailed in your question? If you don't care at all about price, Sager makes some super-performing gaming laptops. My current laptop is an Asus S96J with ATI x1600 256mb, 2gb RAM, and 2.16ghz intel dual-core, which runs games like a dream. Runs fairly quiet and doesn't get that hot at all; costs over $2000 though. I heard Dell's hardware quality is pretty crappy but I don't have a lot of personal experience to confirm that.

I think Alienware is overrated myself, but it's still probably better than Dell. All I can say is that Asus is known for the quality of their hardware. And as I said, Sager is known for their gaming machines, although expect them to be hot, loud and expensive for so much performance.

I was debating getting that one myself before I decided on the S96J. Basically the same specs, except W3J is smaller. I wanted a nice big screen for my games :)

I have been searching for a week and $1686 was the cheapest! You can get it from www.gentechpc.com for $1799 - $90 discount is the next cheapest I found. If you want to customize it I suggest you check out www.stipc.com and you can customize one a bit more expensive though.

look take it from me, gaming and laptop just don't go together. I thought as you once in May 2005 that they did. for a present I asked for a gaming laptop. I feel retarded. anyway .. My system at the time was about $2000 .. - a Dell Inspiron 9300 1.86GHZ Centrino, 80GB drive, DVD RW, 128 Mobility X300 and lots of others. I thought it would have been a relatively a good gaming machine. Well, I regret it. Ive really grown to dislike Dell, and I don't think I'll ever buy from them again. I've never had problems with my laptop, and its great, just not for gaming.
now I just really dislike Dell, I think their products are poor quality, and they put too much garbage, absolute useless preinstalled apps on their PC's
Alienware- Over priced ... while they may have quality, its way way too overpriced and not worth it. I would recommend ASUS. Every thing about ASUS is excellent. And yes their items are more than a comparable Dell, but everything I read about ASUS and the product Ive used from them rock (desktop motherboards, graphics card)
or look up Acer, if you don't want ASUS. Both make excelent laptops. But don't expect a gaming laptop. I can play games, but just not the way I want to which equals my favorite game. Half Life. I could play half life 2, and episode 1, but ep2 came out with minor updated graphics engine and it just doesn't run. but i suppose it depends on what kind of gaming you do.

nice! now you're talking. of course i'd rather use a desktop than a laptop. it's just that i want to know what laptop could give even half of the desktop could give when it comes to gaming. i wanna trash my dell. :D

The ATI graphics it comes with was a little annoying to set up, but not as bad as it could have been. The intel 3945abg wireless card that mine came with is a pain though, and I still haven't gotten it to work. Everything else is fine.
