Ok guys, here is my problem. I am running fedora core 5 on my laptop (a compaq presario R4000 series notebook), which of course comes with the really crappy ATI Radeon Xpress 200M. Now for the most part i have been hearing that linux and this card are a nono and they do not like to co-operate (dont worry, the tower that im going to build come this december is going to have an nvidia geforce 7900GT), but i have heard that some people have had luck with the fglrx driver 8.13.3

My question is, does anybody know how to get this installed in fedora core 5, because i would like to try to get compiz running on my fedora core 5 (i would like to have the privelage of installing it myself before fedora core 6 is released, and they take the fun out of it, cause its going to be pre-installed). I would appriciate any help that you can give me, thank-you very much (in advance of course)

I tried to install ATI fglrx driver on ATI Radeon 9550 ... no luck.
I didn't understand the problem but this fglrx driver is really terrible. The driver is installed but work when it wants. Sometime work sometime do not work.

Hey, if you have any success with your drivers give us some feedback.
