Hi,
I have two machines with FC5. I had thougth that I had installed FC5 the same way on both machines, with the exception that one had KDE & a few more options. Now, when I issue the "uname -r" command, I see one gives "2.6.17-1.2174_FC5smp". The one with out KDE responds with "2.6.17-1.2174_FC5". I know it isn't related to KDE. So, what is the difference?
Also, I have a /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth0 on one machine. This machine has two NIC's. The route-eth0 provides static routes to machines via one of the NIC's, which happens to be eth0. I copied this route-eth0 to my second machine. The second machine is on the same subnet as the first. However, when I issue "/sbin/service network reload", after having copied the route-eth0 file to it, I receive the following:
Bringing up interface eth0: RTNETLINK answers: File exists
RTNETLINK answers: File exists
The response to "netstat -r" is slow.
What does the message about RTNETLINK mean?
Why is the response to "netsat -r" slow?
Thanks,
Curtis
P.S.
Not sure if this was the correct place for this question.
