Both cards cost ~$75 and have 256mb 128bit RAM. Which of them would be better to buy?

check for compatability with whatever distro you plan on using and then buy the one with the best bang for the buck.

6600 will have better compatibility with FC5 (and most distro's), as it's older technology. That said if it's a resolution of 1280x1024 or less, either will work fine.
