I get the following error everytime I run yum:

http://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/fedora/extras/4/i386/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (111, 'Connection refused')>
Trying other mirror.
Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: extras
failure: repodata/repomd.xml from extras: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
Error: failure: repodata/repomd.xml from extras: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.

What should I do to fix this? Are there any other repositories I can try to add to my yum.conf file?

I tried surfing to the url you listed. I cannot get it, but I got the repo just by removing the 'fr2.' at the beginning. You may want to edit your repo config to read that way.

Thanks. But this is starting to get weird. In looking at the yum.conf file I can't find the URL.

I found a directory called /etc/yum.repo.d/ with a bunch of files in it.

The fedora.repo file contains:

[base]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Base
baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/$releasever/$ba\
search/os/
mirrorlist=http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/fedora-core-$releasever
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora

There are other files all starting with the word fedora. In them are all references to this fedora.redhat.com site.

Will you post a list of your repos in /etc/yum.repo.d ,please? If you do not have it in there, then you either need to create a repo listing for it or add it to /etc/yum.conf . In my opinion, it would be best to ad a new repo, rather than adding it to /etc/yum.repos.d :)
The one thing I do not understand is why yum tried to go there if there is no repo for that site. Shouldn't happen.

p.s. the repo may be listed under extras, or it may be listed by name

The fedora.repo file contains: Repos "can" go in /etc/yum.conf (as suggested by the comment at the end of the file), but by default, they do go in /etc/yum.repos.d (also as indicated in the comment at the end of the /etc/yum.conf file). The repos.d file IS your repo file

Okay..... Since that doesn't show the fr2.rpmfind repo, does it show up in /etc/yum.conf? I don't use the rpmfind repos so I may be wrong, but I think you need to get rid of the '/repodata/repomd.xml in the address, and let yum find the repodata on it's own. But the repo conf file needs to be found first. Just so we can see the exact set up.

edit
I just thought of something. Is this a repo from a mirror list?
