View Full Version : FC5 on G3 iMac - Shutdown problems

I've installed FC5 PPC on a G3 iMac (run's great), however I have a problem when I shut down. FC5 does complete the shutdown process, but the iMac turns itself back on an instant later. Is this a problem with the ROM? Do G3 iMacs have BIOS settings like PCs? Or is there something in the FC5 shutdown process that's causing the problem?

Thanks!

Anyone? Does Apple still suport these iMacs?

Hi,

I also installed FC5 on a G3 iMac (Flower Power) and it works fine. Just having a few issues with the keyboard and how to get the sound volume to work using the keyboard.

I've had a couple of Macs that rebooted with certain USB peripherals attached. I know Bizarre! Remove evrything and try using Apple keyboard and mouse. If I remember correctly it was an old Microsoft mouse my rebooting ppc hated.

Also may be power management issue detecting shutdown as power failure and rebooting after such.

That makes sense. Is there a way to check that? Is power management managed through the Open Firmware? If so, then how?

Thanks!
