I want to switch from default DM (Gnome) to KDE. This is all done thru the famous Desktop Switching Tool but I can't find it!

In this latest version, There is no reference to it NOR is it a link to it. I don't know if it's already installed because I don't know it's name, or where it might me installed ....

Any visitor with more knowledge than me on this topic might suggest a solution ...

(it is these "errors" that make one sit and stare at the computer with the mouth wide open :)

You may want to edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop to change the default desktop to
DESKTOP="KDE"
and in the process you may also put kdm as your default login manager
DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"
Hope this helps:D

Meny is missing, apparently...you can start the program with the command "switchdesk" and it should come up if it was installed.

switchdesk modifies the user's set of .Xclients-* files in their home directory -- you can do that manually if something seems borked with switchdesk.

Editing /etc/sysconfig/desktop is a system wide setting for the default desktop, but if a user has already set their default then (I think) it will not correct the problem for that user. Simply change the ~/.Xclients-default file to load the desired desktop. The example files switchdesk uses are found in:
/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/
