Desktop switcher..not sticking?

I run the switcher and enter Gnome as default, next boot KDE comes up. Doesn't matter if "this display ony" is checked or not. How do I get Gnome to be the default system desktop.

Save your session when logging out, then copy:
/usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.kde
to your home directory as: ~/.Xclients-default

This is exactly what switchdesk is supposed to be doing. The script should be fairly obvious if you read it, instead of starting 'gnome-session' is should be running 'startkde'.
