Hey, looks like I've gotten myself into a bit of a pickle monkeying around with my usb thumb drive. :confused:

I ran fdisk on my thumb drive and now I can't get it back to how it was. The partition table before the partitioning read:

Disk /dev/sdb: 512 MB, 512753664 bytes
56 heads, 32 sectors/track, 558 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1792 * 512 = 917504 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdb1 * 1 559 500592 6 FAT16
Partition 1 has different physical/logical endings:
phys=(838, 55, 32) logical=(558, 39, 32)

I managed to get it back to this:

Disk /dev/sda: 512 MB, 512753664 bytes
56 heads, 32 sectors/track, 558 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1792 * 512 = 917504 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 558 499967+ 6 FAT16

Any suggestions?

Are these functionally equivalent?
