I used to scan documents using Linux on my HP LaserJet 3200 multi-function printer copier. I always used the USB interface and scanning was never an issue. Sometime in the last couple months at least scanning has been getting flakier and flakier.
Now about 3 out of 4 times I scan a page the printer will stop in the middle of the page and beep and a minute later xsane will display an error reading:
Erorr during read: Error during device I/O.
I know this used to work very reliably in the past and only recently stopped working. Possibly since upgrading to FC5. The system has other USB devices attached which all work just fine. It also has built-in USB adapters as well as an add-on card with more USB ports with a different chipset. I have tried this device on both sets of devices with the same results.
Now I have to re-scan each page 3-4 times to get it to successfully complete the scan and is getting really painful since i have a lot of documents to scan.
Any ideas??
