I don't know if this was posted before or not, but usually when people sign up in a new forum they introduce themselves in a special section... So far I don't see any section like this one if the FedoraForum site... Maybe you guys don't think is necessary, but I think something like that will get people more confortable when joining up... :D

"Hi I'm Gareth" forum?
Surely Wibble and Linux Chat are for the casual talk? Most people who sign up to the forum, only make a very limited number of posts normally about a specific problem they have. Then they disappear.
I'm not sure that its a great idea.

This kind of thing happens on the #fedora IRC channel sometimes. People say hi and ask permission to ask a question.
Maybe if we're clear that you can just ask, people will speak up.

Maybe if there was a section in the side bar by the latest how-tos or somewhere in there titled "newbies click here" or something that described what to do and encourage posting that would help. I dont know, just trying to come up with something that could work.

Excuse me, was I supposed to ask permission before I started asking questions? I am sorry. I thought that is what this board was here for in the first place.
By the way I am Marshall

It's just not a good idea.
I don't think that such a forum will encourage people to speak up at all.
