I recently installed Fedora Core 5. According to man traceroute their is no -I option for ICMP. Every other version of traceroute I have used has the -I option.

Is their another version of traceroute for FC5. Or do I need to get an older version perhaps from FC4.
And if so any ideas where to get it.

Thanks

It certainly worked in some earlier version. I don't know when it got removed. But you should have no problem using a traceroute from an earlier distribution. http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/ is the starting point for all the fedora versions. f\From there go into 4/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/ and try traceroute from there. If that doesn't have the -I option start working back. With my old isp traceroute would only work with the -I option, but I no longer have that problem.

I've noticed this, as well and will try to use an older traceroute because I have to use -I with my ISP.

Hi,

I just noticed this too. -I has been removed on FC5.

I copied the binary off a FC4 system and it seems to work ok. Very quick Fix!
