i think i have a problem with my HDD

i susped the partition table might be corrupted

when i completely turn of pc then turn back on again my fc5 grub complaining error 16

so i tries few time reset my pc and then it can load into my fc5 without any problem

the next time i completely turn off my pc again i have to reset multiple tim inorder to get into my fc5

is there a program to scan and repair my partition table?

i was looking at gparted and install them in my fc5 but it dont allow me to scan my hda

You can use fsck to check filesystems but i dont think thats the problem, if it was corrupt FS then it woudnt load no matter how many times you try. It sounds like a bad sector or other problems in your drive, try looking on the manufactuors website of the drive. They usually offer software to check your drives out. They are usually only windows based though :(
