Hi All,
A friend gave me a CDROM containing the movie "Loose Change" (I guess it's an AVI.) So I try to mount it on 2 different Fedora Core 5 machines and they both hang. I haven't experienced any problems with either of the FC5 machines, one with a CDROM drive and the other with a DVD drive. I did the following:
$ su -
# mkdir 1
# mount /dev/hdd 1
Now this gnome-terminal tab is hung. From another tab I can see the mount.
$ ps aux | grep mount
root 28680 0.0 0.3 4216 784 pts/1 D+ 10:50 0:00 mount /dev/hdc 1
I can't kill the task. Logout then login shows it still present. I have to reboot to get rid of the task. There are no entries in /var/log/messages.
Can someone give me some ideas about what's happening?
Many thanks for your help,
Dale E. Moore
