Is there a noob proof guide to getting this working? I mean seriously, the sound worked during installation with the "test" function, so I go to play an Mp3 just and there is no sound, go to Soundcard detect in admin options, nuh-uh, no-go again.

Please can someone help? I assume I just need to reinstall the driver but I have no clue!

Check through smf how to for mp3 support or search the forum for mp3 support, I think there is something you need to add to a stock setup that will let you play mp3 wma etc.

Mine installed no problems. Have you checked the mixer settings?

I can play them just can't hear them, nor can I hear system sounds or the test voice thing.

Heh, well in a fashion. The volume control does not work near the system clock, the higher you make the volume it cuts of any sound and the lower you make it the sound is at a constant volume. I only have control via my speaker system. Not ideal, but I guess it works...

When you say you have it working through your speajer system what does that mean? The internal speaker?
