Ever since this game was taken out from Fedora, starting with Fedora 3 (I think), I wanted to have it back. There are no signs of this game being in Extras, and have resorted to install the x86_64 version for Fedora Core 2 that I found in rpmfind.net, it works flawlessly, but I'd still like it to be maintained in Extras...

Yes, I'd wish they would put it back too (it's only a 1.2MB package). It was the first Linux game that I ever played. Fortunately, you can still download it from here (worked under FC6): http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/2/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/chromium-0.9.12-25.i386.rpm

I think the reason it was taken out is because it is no longer being actively developed.

Not trying to mock YOU or anything, rather the decision to not include it, but don't you feel that thats a lame answer? If its quality software that really is complete, and as bugfree as the users can tell, who cares if there is some update?

I second or third the motion to bring it back. The game was fun as *****, and has obliterated many moments of my life :D

Apparently RedHat does.

No release of Fedora Core will be complete without its improved fun features. While Alan Cox was studying for an MBA, he couldn't help but provide extensive quality assurance testing of BZFlag, which is now included in Fedora Core 3. BZFlag replaces Chromium, which now enters Extras.

I agree with you though, they should put it back. Debian's still got it in their repos.

Might as well leave it open. Granted it's a reviving of an ancient thread, but maybe, the folks who missed it two years ago, will be glad to have it back.

Thanks for pointing it out though--I missed the fact that it was two years old till I saw your post, and as you know, we usually do close old threads revivified.

In this case though, as mentioned above, I figure it can be left open. (To any other mods who see this--it's late, and I'm really tired, so if you folks disagree, feel free to close it. )
