Hi all,
As most have posted here, I'm a windows bot through and through who is now fiddling with Linux. I have a Linksys wireless card which runs off the bcmwl5.inf/sys drivers under Ndiswrapper.
The wrapper installed without a hitch and, under root, I managed to get a link up and running without a problem using iwlist, iwconfig and ipconfig to set the essid and key.
The snag is that, after logging off and re-logging as a user the whole lot has disappeared! Also when I log in as root I can't connect. Ndiswrapper -l reports the drivers as loaded, iwconfig is reporting the card and the settings but when I try and use the networking tool it reports no connection, check the cable.
This is so frustrating as I know the settings work because I had the connecting in Fedora but now it just will not play.
Any ideas? I have checked through the posts here and the ndiswrapper site, all to no avail.
It's driving me nuts.
Cheers
