I installed FC5 on my machine just fine. The monitor I have, a Acer 1916w (19" widescreen) has a native resolution of 1440x990. The monitor is correctly indentified, but the resolution defaults to 800x600. Going to the control panel does not list the native resolution either. I therefore edited the xorg.conf file and changed the default resolution to 1440x900 at 24 bit. No luck their either. Where the h*ll does fedora check for the default screen resolution for X?

You can edit it by going to System->administration->display. You then have to make sure you have the right display adapter selected and then set the max resolution the "users" can use.

I tried that, but the native resolution it not displayed. Hmmm. Does Fedora have a X config file somewhere else?
